If you want to leave the driving to someone else, or you don’t have a rental car that can drive on gravel roads, you can take a shuttle from Anchorage, Glennallen, or Chitina to McCarthy.
The shuttle vans will drop you off at the end of the McCarthy Road. You must walk across a footbridge with your bags, and take the Lodge shuttle van the last five miles to Kennicott. The Lodge shuttle provides complimentary transportation for arriving Guests from the footbridge to Kennicott on the hour from noon to 8pm.
Scheduled Shuttle between Glennallen/Chitina and McCarthy with Kennicott Shuttle, LLC.
Schedule
Depart Glennallen at 7am, Depart Chitina Airport at 8:15am and Arrive at the end of the McCarthy Road around 11am. The Lodge shuttle will pick you up at the footbridge at noon.
Depart McCarthy at 4:30pm and Arrive at Chitina Airport at 6:45pm, Arrive Glennallen at 8:00pm
