Kennicott Explorer Package - 3 days/2 nights

Start your excursion at the airstrip in Chitina, where you will board a small airplane for a 30 minute flight through the Wrangell Mountains. You will fly over glaciers and past mountains with Wrangell Mountain Air. This narrated flightseeing trip will land you in McCarthy and you will be met by our van for the short ride to the Kennicott Glacier Lodge.
At Kennicott you will have the rest of the day, all of the next day, and part of another to explore the ghost town, take in some of the National Park Service shows, walks, and tours, hike the trails, and enjoy the spectacular scenery. Other guided activities are also available. Your comfortable room in the Main Lodge will be your "base camp" for explorations, and all your meals are included at Kennicott Glacier Lodge.
On your last day at Kennicott you will fly with Wrangell Mountain Air back to Chitina at either 8:30 am, 2 pm or 5 pm.
This package includes roundtrip airfare from Chitina to McCarthy and room with three meals per day at Kennicott Glacier Lodge. Other guided activities are an extra charge. Rates based on double occupancy room.

Your adventure begins with a scenic 30 minute flight from Chitina to McCarthy with Wrangell Mountain Air where you will skirt the Wrangell Mountains, fly over glaciers, and land at the McCarthy airstrip. During your stay at Kennicott Glacier Lodge, your room and all your meals are included, as well as 1/2 day glacier hike and a historic ghost town tour with St. Elias Alpine Guides.
Your return flight will take you back to Chitina at the end of your stay. This is a great way to fully experience this remote and beautiful part of Alaska.

The Grand Tour
4 days/3 nights (Monday departures) OR 5 days/4 nights (Thursday departures)
Starting in Anchorage, this tour takes you through the Chugach Mountains to Glennallen, then around the Wrangell Mountains to McCarthy. This is how we get our mail here in remote Alaska, and you can ride along!
Your tour begins at Anchorage International Airport where you will board a Security Aviation airplane for a scenic 1 hour flight through the Chugach Mountains to Gulkana Airport near Glennallen. From there you fly around the Wrangell Mountains with Copper Valley Air to land at the McCarthy airstrip.
We will pick you up for the short trip to the lodge, where you begin your exploration of this fantastic and unique corner of Alaska. During your stay at Kennicott Glacier Lodge, your room and all your meals are included.
Your return flight will take you back to Anchorage at the end of your stay. This is an easy way to see much of this remote and spectacular part of Alaska.
